Last updated September 15, 2026 · App behavior below applies from tvOS build 35
Channel 3 is a native Apple TV client for your own RomM 5+ server. It includes no games, firmware, or hosted library. You don't need a separate Channel 3 account, and the app shows no ads. Usage sharing is optional and off until you enable it. The app works with sharing disabled.
The Channel 3 app
- Channel 3 connects to your own RomM server, at the address you configure. Local discovery probes candidate RomM hostnames on your network. Artwork URLs supplied by your server may contact other hosts.
- Your server address is stored on the device. The pairing token RomM issues is stored in the device's Keychain and used to authenticate requests to your server. Use Forget Server to clear the app's pairing credentials. Deleting the app does not guarantee removal of Keychain entries or anything stored on your server.
- Your RomM password is never entered into, seen by, or stored in Channel 3 — pairing is approved on another device that is already signed in to RomM.
- The contents of your library — game names, files, artwork, save data, save screenshots, play sessions, and the game-status choices you make — are handled by your device and server. Your server operator controls its storage, logs, backups, and deletion. Temporary game downloads are cleaned up after sessions; pending saves and sync records may remain for retry.
- If you enable usage sharing, the Apple TV app sends limited usage events through Aptabase's US cloud. Events cover app and emulator launches, first gameplay frames, discovery and pairing outcomes, and launch errors. They include core or allowlisted platform identifiers where relevant. The SDK adds OS and app versions, build, device model, locale, debug status, and a session identifier that rotates after inactivity.
- Analytics events exclude game titles, library contents, server addresses, credentials, save files, screenshots, and free-form input. Sharing is off until you enable "Share anonymous usage" in Privacy & Legal. Existing installations must opt in again from build 35. Turning sharing off stops new submissions; events already queued may finish sending, and previously received events are not deleted by the toggle.
- Channel 3 contains no advertising networks and no cross-app tracking SDKs.
Analytics provider
Analytics connections expose your IP address to the service. Aptabase describes deriving a daily identifier from network information and a rotating salt, and permits analytics retention for up to five years. A shorter retention period for this account has not been verified. See Aptabase's privacy policy for provider handling. Contact us with questions about retention or processing.
This website (channel3.games)
- We use Aptabase, to count page views and link clicks without cookies. The site's events include the page, path, platform, and clicked RomM link. The app's usage-sharing toggle does not control website analytics.
- Our host, Cloudflare, may collect standard operational logs and aggregate performance analytics for the site.
- There are no ad networks, social embeds, or third-party scripts.
If you email support@channel3.games, we keep the correspondence only as long as needed to help you, and never share it or add you to any list without asking.
